About Us

What it is

The River Valley Blues Festival, held the third weekend in August at Salvage Station on the banks of the French Broad River in Asheville, is rapidly becoming one of the premiere festivals in the region.

How it happened

The festival started in 2015 at The Valley Music Hall & Cook House in Swannanoa, and featured the talents of Miranda Clark, The Lowdown, The Zuzu Welsh Band, Hurricane Bob, Andrew Scotchie & The River Rats and Stolen Hearts. In 2016 the event moved to Salvage Station, and featured Roots & Dore, Rhoda Weaver & The Soulmates, Stolen Hearts, Bygone Blues, The Zuzu Welsh Band and Andrew Scotchie and the River Rats. This year's event has expanded to two days and brought in national artists to headline.

What's next?

Janiva Magness on August 19th and Grady Champion on August 20th are two very good reasons to come out for one or both days. With ticket prices set at $25 per day or $40 for the weekend, this event is affordable and exciting for all blues and music fans.
